The rail network connects all major Croatian cities, except Dubrovnik. There are direct lines to Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Yugoslavia. In 2003, between Bratislava and Split, like on weekends from June to September 2002), a tourist train taking also sleeping car and a car enabling transport of private cars and bicycles, will be organized. Train is a popular mode of transport in Croatia. The day trains between major cities also conveys full restaurant facilities, whilst the overnight services convey sleeping car accommodation as well as seating accommodation. Between Zagreb and Split, particularly in high season, several night trains take private cars.
